While the average investment for building a pool varies by region, a base pool will typically range from the mid to upper $30,000s. Size, customized options, automated features, and the cost of finish materials contribute to the total investment of your pool. Our experienced design consultants will create a custom pool that fits your yard, lifestyle and budget. An important fact to realize is that the pool industry is much like the home building industry in that there are tract/production homebuilders, custom/tract homebuilders and custom homebuilders. However when it comes to pools, many people think all pools are created equal…. a pool, is a pool, is a pool. NOT SO. A tract pool, or cookie cutters as they are called in the pool industry, is cheaper than a custom pool, just like a tract home is cheaper that a custom home. This is not because the custom builder makes more profit, but instead, are usually more experienced, use better quality products/materials, employs highly skilled contractors and provides better warranties, communication and customer service. Choose wisely.

A Dominion Pools design consultant will contact you to set up a meeting to come to your home to discuss the features, likes, dislikes and a budget for the pool you are considering. They will evaluate your backyard, topography, the architecture of your home, focal and access points, family needs/usage, tree locations, locate utilities, check for easements and a number of other things. It will be necessary to have a site or plot plan of your house and property available for our consultant. Following the initial consultation, your designer will return to the office and design a custom pool to incorporate all the features and benefits which were discussed. They will then contact you to schedule an appointment to come to our office/showroom for a no-pressure, professional presentation of your custom Dominion Pool. Here, you will be able to see the many samples of the materials being suggested such as tile, coping, deck and plaster.

We have a lifetime structural warranty on the pool shell, as well as an extended warranty on our pumps, filters, heaters and cleaners. In this day and age, it has become more and more common for builders to build larger houses on smaller lots so Dominion Pool Group has a lot of experience designing smaller pools. Our experienced design consultants can create a beautiful custom swimming pool for even the most challenging properties. There are many factors that determine the price of a pool. How big is the pool? What extras and custom features are added? The investment for a pool is also determined by:

• Quality of materials and craftsmanship. Good things are not cheap and cheap things are seldom good.
• Difficult access and/or topography of the Jobsite.
• Soil conditions and the presence of water or rock. Is Specialized Engineering necessary?
• Many builders build a “basic” production type pool while others build customized pools with many additional features and benefits.
• Warranties provided by the pool builder.

Like most things, there is good, better and best. Since the addition of a swimming pool is, many times, the second largest investment one will make, as Dean Ruskin says, “If you deal with the lowest bidder, you’re well to add something for the risk you run……and when you do that, you can afford something better!” That is, of course, a Dominion Pool.

Depending on the season, it takes approximately 8-12 weeks from the time excavation of the pool begins. This could also be affected by the “scale” of the job……..larger, more complex jobs with a lot of detail, can take longer.
